Bloc-Liberal Coalition Blocks Emergency Hearings into Job-killing Federal Decree

Ottawa, ON – Trudeau and his radical Environment Minister are attempting to force an emergency order on Quebec to ban forestry and logging work. This measure could eliminate up to 30,000 direct and indirect jobs across Quebec. This job-killing decree is yet another example of the federal Liberal Government intruding in Quebec’s jurisdiction.

Conservatives are calling for emergency hearings at the Natural Resources Committee to stop Trudeau and Guilbeault from imposing a job-killing mandate on Quebec and invading Quebec’s jurisdiction again. Steven Guilbeault must be questioned on how many jobs his federal decree will kill and be ordered to produce the Liberal Government’s economic analysis that will result from this policy. The committee must also hear testimony from impacted forestry workers and forestry and logging companies.

The Bloc has the power to make these emergency meetings happen, but they are refusing to get to work and are covering up for Justin Trudeau. Worse still, the Bloc MP on the Natural Resources Committee, Mario Simard, represents an area of Saguenay–Lac-St-Jean, the region that stands to lose the most jobs from Trudeau’s latest intrusion into Quebec’s jurisdiction, refuses to hold Trudeau’s radical Environment Minister accountable and defend forestry workers. This Bloc MP is complicit in allowing the Trudeau Liberals to put thousands of forestry workers out of work.

Common Sense Conservatives reject Trudeau’s job-killing decree and intrusion into Quebec’s jurisdiction and are working to stop it. The Bloc refuses to do this work. Once again, they are demonstrating their coalition with the Trudeau-Liberals and that they fully support the radical Liberal policies that will put Quebecers out of work.
